Hunter Communications is searching for ambitious, hard-working entry-level laborers to train for a career as an Aerial Lineman, Installer, or Splicer.   • Complete required training related to job duties as outlined by Hunter Communications.
  • Perform all duties assigned to support aerial and underground line work
  • Perform heavy manual labor, must be able to lift 70lbs on occasion
  • Must have the ability to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to learn quickly, think ahead, and use independent judgment
  • Ability to travel out of town on occasion for up to several days at a time.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics by crawling, bending, reaching, twisting

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive starting wage in addition to fully paid premiums for medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance coverage. Accrued 2 weeks of vacation and 1 week of sick time in addition to 9 paid holidays each year. Ability for wage increases as training milestones are completed.

Hunter Communications is the largest, privately held fiber optic network in the State of Oregon and is continuing to grow. Established in 1994, Hunter Communications has several offices throughout the State of Oregon and has been involved in a variety of cabling and installation services to Oregon customers and throughout the Pacific Northwest.

  • Must be in excellent physical condition to perform job duties
  • Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
  • Must be able to obtain medical exam certificate
  • Hand and finger dexterity to carry and to use tools and equipment as necessary
  • Ability to work while standing and moving 80 - 90% of the time
  • Vision: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus; ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Clean driving record and must possess a Class A CDL
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to within 35 minutes driving time to our offices
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and take 24 hour on call duty on a rotating basis, which could include work on nights, weekends, and holidays
