The Oregon State University Extension Lane County Office is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Oregon State University and its Division of Extension and Engagement are seeking an inspirational, dynamic, and visionary individual to provide exemplary leadership as the Community Engagement Specialist in Lane County. This is a full-time position and will be based at the OSU Extension Service Lane County Office in Eugene, Oregon. The Community Engagement specialist will report to the OSU Extension Regional Director for the Western Region.

The mission of the OSU Extension Service (OES) is to engage the people of Oregon with research-based knowledge and education that strengthen communities and economies, sustain natural resources, and promote healthy families and individuals. OES partners with communities in every county of Oregon to provide information, services, and expertise to meet local challenges and help every Oregonian thrive. The Community Engagement Specialist will work closely with the OSU Extension Regional Director to increase awareness of and build support for OSU Extension in Lane County by:
  1. Building and strengthening collaborative relationships with external stakeholders including local government officials, community leaders, volunteers, alumni, and industry partners.
  2. Promoting Extension programs and services.
  3. Working with elected officials to build legislative and local government financial support.
